How the process works

From first call to filed order

Whether you are working with an attorney or navigating the process on your own, here is what to expect when you engage our office.

1
Complete the Initial Intake Form below
Provide us with the basic information about your case — your name, your spouse's name, the type of retirement plan, and whether you have an attorney. This takes about five minutes.
2
We send you our proposed engagement terms
After running a conflict check, we send you an email outlining the terms of our engagement, our flat fee, and the process we use to gather the information and documents we need.
3
You provide us the information we need and pay the flat fee
We walk you through a detailed intake questionnaire tailored to your specific plan type. Once we have everything we need and the flat fee is paid, we begin drafting the order.
4
We draft the order and coordinate with the plan
We prepare the correct type of order for your plan, coordinate with the plan administrator or government agency, and provide you and your attorney with the completed order and filing instructions.
5
You or your attorney file the order with the court
Filing with the court is handled by you or your attorney. Once the order is signed and filed, you will need to submit it to the plan administrator or agency for qualification. We provide complete instructions, including the address to which you will need to send the order for qualification and implementation.
📋 QDRO Initial Intake Form

Complete the form below to get started. We will conduct a conflict check and, if it is clear, send you an email outlining the terms of our proposed engagement and the process we use to gather the information and documents we need.

Note: Submission of this Initial Intake Form does not create an attorney-client relationship. We will conduct a conflict check and if it is clear we will send you an email outlining the terms of our proposed engagement and the process we use to gather the information and documents we will need to assist you. An attorney-client relationship will not be established until the parties provide us all the information we need, and pay the full retainer for our services, as outlined in the terms of our engagement.
